Memorable Software Endeavors
- Simulations of all sorts; I just love the concept of random,
yet non-random,
numbers. Is there an analogy to the random, yet non-random,
universe here?
- Watching as programs "learn" a task, and eventually
do it well.
- Turning systems of dynamic equations into visualizations
(and then watching them!).
- Reworking statistical routines written by "the experts",
and improving their performance by two
orders of magnitude.
- Squeezing a few hundred lines of code into 196 words of
an HP67 for hand-held, field use.

- Grace Murry Hopper, for being a dynamo of energy & ideas.
- Norbert Weiner, for writing "The Human Use of Human
